Jo to Go Coffee | Taco Flamingo Sponsoring the Q90 Pledge Drive
Tune in to check them out! To listen live, please click here.
Green Bay, WI – “It’s been five weeks now since I cut! I am doing alright! Thanks for being there through it all and always talking to me when I was so tempted to give in.” wrote one Green Bay-area teen to the Q90 staff.
Sasha is just one of 3000 kids powerfully served by Q90’s HopeNet, an online chat room where teens can chat confidentially, one-on-one with a live, trained Prayer Partner about any issues they are facing. HopeNet was launched in March of 2008 to expand the Christian radio station’s mission to bring families and kids into life-giving relationship with each other and Jesus through hip, inspiring music and events.
The Green Bay community has an opportunity to support their efforts via the station’s Q-Drive, which runs from May 5-7. The Q90 pledge drive is a bi-annual effort to raise funds to cover the operating costs of Q90 FM and HopeNet.
Jo to Go America Director of Development, Dick DuBois said that the franchise’s support of Q90 is a natural fit. DuBois keeps his finger on the pulse of area teens by embarking on a yearly speaking tour of area high schools. This past year, DuBois went a step further, launching his own initiative to mentor teens through Team JoFlamingo. Team JoFlamingo is a business/marketing internship that gives high school students the tools and support to be successful in the business world.
DuBois commented: “When we heard about the impact Q90 is having on area teens--especially teens in crisis--we knew we wanted to be a part of their fundraising efforts.”
DuBois will be dropping off specialty coffee drinks and fresh Mexican food to energize the Q90 staff and volunteers for the duration of the pledge drive May 5-7. He will be chatting with Kid and Scotty during the Q-Breakfast Club at 7 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2009.

Going meatless on Fridays?
Try our fish tacos for a tasty change of pace!Never tried the fish taco? Try it Lana's way. Lana is the manager at the Taco Flamingo Jo to Go Coffee Cafe, 1960 Main St. in Green Bay. She takes her fish taco with lettuce, onion, cilantro and a twist of lime in a hard shell corn tortilla.
We're a pretty agreeable bunch, and will gladly make your taco any way you want!
Don't like fish? The fish probably don't like you either. Get a vegetarian taco and stop the hate.

Taco Flamingo Introduces Dollar Menu
Green Bay, WI--Jo to Go Coffee/Taco Flamingo has unveiled a dollar menu geared towards those who are brown-baggin’ it through life. The dollar menu features eight menu items, including breakfast, lunch, dessert and drink options, and is available at both Jo To Go Coffee/Taco Flamingo locations in Green Bay: 1120 Radisson Street and 1960 E. Mason Street.
“The average brown bag lunch costs anywhere from $2.00 - $3.00,” commented Jo to Go America President Dick DuBois. “For the same amount you can stop in to Taco Flamingo and enjoy a fresh, healthy Mexican lunch--and you don’t need to wake up early to fix it or remember to pack it.”
Cost-savings marries convenience: Dick DuBois believes Taco Flamingo is orchestrating a proverbial match made in heaven.
According to the NPD Group, a leading global provider of consumer and retail market research information, packing a lunch is at an all-time high since 2001. Adults ages 18-and-older consumed some 8.5 billion brown-bag lunches last year (38 bagged lunches per capita compared to 35 in 2006). Nearly 12% of lunchtime opportunities were brought from home as of the year ended February 2008. In contrast, the February, 2007 figure was 11.3%.
Cost-saving was the primary motivation among those polled.
